C.) Room Monitor / Hall Monitor
7 volunteers needed to monitor rooms - introduce student presenters according to the schedule, assist students with putting on microphones, monitor stopwatch during student presentations, ask MAS staff for help if students run in to technical difficulties with computers or projectors, assist presentation judges if help is needed. This is a great position for those who like to learn about science because you will get to hear student’s present exciting new research! Some sitting, some standing is required. Volunteers should be friendly and good at communicating, especially with students who are nervous about presenting. No experience necessary but familiarity with LCD projectors a plus. If we have enough volunteers, you can bring a friend or student to help in the room. 3 volunteers needed to monitor hallways outside of presentation rooms to help students with questions and to keep hallway noise down. Volunteers will need to be able to move up and down the hallways throughout their shift. A great way to get exercise AND help out students. No experience required.
